Finger Playlist: Matthew Dear

Matthew Dear

has created a nuanced body of work under a variety of guises (Jabberjaw, Audion, False etc.) over the last ten years or so, but revealed little of himself. Until his album «Asa Breed» in 2007 he focused on faceless dance floor orientated minimal techno and electronica. Now the Texan electronica polyglot steps into the shoes of Arthur Russell and David Byrne to transform dance tracks into pop songs – could be described as «avant pop».
