We're celebrating the birthday of syknyk's legendry playlist series Strictly BASS... on the blog today. His bottom-heavy mixtapes have been abusing eardrums and devastating soundsystems the world over for two years now. Check out his playlists below.

Strictly BASS... Part One

This is how it all began – part one. The artwork's a little cruder but the music is as spectacular as ever. "Open mind time.," syknyk told us in May 2010. "If you're a fan of dance music and have a thing for heavy bass then this playlist is for you. DNB, Dubstep, Breakcore, Fidget House, Breakbeat... whatever the genre these tracks should put your subs to the test." He hasn't looked back since. A great start to a great series.

Strictly BASS... 34

And this is where we are today – part 34. "Not exactly sure how I've managed to cram 34 editions into the last 2 years," syknyk says,  "but I have." And what a two years it's been. He's given us over 3,000 of the finest, bassiest music around. This edition features tracks and mixes by Rita Ora, KOAN Sound, Adam F, AC Slater, K Theory, Adventure Club, Savant, Andy C, Roni Size, Cut La Roc, Deadmau5, Porter Robinson, Dillon Francis and more. Cross faders to 7-9s for the full syknyk effect.

Well played, syknyk. Here's to the next two years...

Long live the mixtape!
