Minimal Wave (or Coldwave) is minimal synth music from the early 1980s. Most of this stripped-down, icy synthpop was only ever released on limited run 7" vinyl or cassette, and for the most part remained undiscovered until quite recently. Thankfully a few record labels have been tracking down these rarities and putting them out on 180g vinyl and Spotify too.
