Baroque Pop

Born in the mid-sixties; this Pop movement is defined by a melancholic and dramatic tone opposed to its counter-part Sunshine Pop.

It uses unusual instruments for pop music: harpsichord, violins, cellos, oboes, French horn and many more.

This playlist includes The Associations, Nancy Sinatra, as well as Sony & Cher.

French artists emerged internationally from Baroque Pop. Here: Brigitte Bardot, Charles Aznavour and Jacques Brel
