Greasy Saxophone from the '50s & '60s

The 1950s and '60s were the hey day for blues influenced early rock n roll saxophone soloists like King Curtis, Lee Allen, Boots Randolph, Sil Austin and many others. In small clubs, even strip joints, they would play their "greasy" saxophone solos. Included in this playlist are many of the great sax players from that era, as well as a few saxophonists who were influenced by their gritty sound, most notably Clarence Clemons of the E. Street Band.
